Greg Howe is a Vermont-based musician who writes and records original compositions in a wide range of styles.
In the summer of 2013 he released his recording debut CD, Too Much of You. As well as writing the material for the record, Greg engineered and mixed the recording. A multi-instrumentalist, he plays most of the instruments on the CD. Primarily, he plays guitar, mandolin, bass, and lap steel. On Too Much of You he also plays piano, organ, harmonica, and percussion.
He is joined on the recording by Alice Charkes and Olivia Howe who play alto saxophone and by Arthur Davis on trumpet.
Greg's newest project is Pachira. This collection of music was inspired by a magnificent journey to Costa Rica. In a departure from his accustomed musical forms, Greg delves into Latin rhythms and instrumentation. These compositions, written immediately upon return from Costa Rica, offer engaging melodies and textures played on classical guitar, requinto, claves, and shekere. Greg is joined by Chris Smith on bongos.
Greg has turned to Tommy Byrnes of Sovereignty Music Services in Bernardston, MA for mastering his CDs.
Greg performs regularly as part of a trio called The Nitrocats.
